Sports Leaders

Sports Leaders and Volunteers have had a very busy year across the Partnership.

We are able to offer pupils from all our 40 schools numerous different events and activities but without the help and support from these young people it would be difficult to provide so much to so many.

Sports Leaders

We have varied ages taking charge and assisting, some year 6 Young Leaders help in their primary schools taking small groups of younger pupils in Multi Skills and Dance. We have older pupils leading groups and assisting coaches and staff in a variety of different activities and sports in their secondary schools.

Sports Leaders are not there just to help out but take an active role in helping other pupils to fulfil there potential and are a role model for others to aspire.

In most secondary schools there are schemes in place for pupils to have the opportunity to be trained in leadership skills and gain an official qualification such as Sports Leaders Award Level 1. Some primary schools are running or looking to run a Young Leaders Award scheme so ask your teachers if this is happening in your school.

You do not have to be trained to help at all the different events so just ask your teachers if there is anything for you to take part in and volunteer.

We would love to hear from you and your teachers about what you have volunteered to do this year and what you intend to do next year. If you send any articles and photos to admin@caterhamssp.co.uk we would be happy to publish them here.
